MONDAY JULY 22

Remember how I was obsessed with “drawing with watercolour” a few weeks ago? Well I’m pretty sure this is the style that it has settled into, and I’m not mad about it.

This is a marshy scene from a photo I took over at Toronto Island last weekend.

I made up some more watercolour tube lino prints, and also carved a swatch grid to show just how versatile this magical set of paints is!

WEDNESDAY JULY 24

For those following along on the saga that is my art supply packing for my weekend camping trip, here’s an update*: I made little sketchbooks for each of my nieces and nephew that will be there, and made some pastel watercolours to add into my travel watercolour palette (they are in my home palette and like having them so they get to come along too).

I painted this Hanlan’s Point beach scene while waiting for Deb’s first ever YouTube livestream to start

Where we again drew weird things! As said, it was Deb’s first livestream, but honestly you would never know it because she did so well! You find the replay on her channel if you too want to draw weird things and laugh your pants off. (Serious, Char asked if she did stand-up, that’s how funny she is)

THURSDAY JULY 25

It was Build-A-Retro Party week at ART HANG PARTY! I know I shouldn’t pick favourites, but the build-a-scene themes are up there.

We built our party scenes using multiple photo references to puzzle everything together.

It’s really fun seeing everyones’s party scenes, because everything is there but in different locations, so it kind of feels like we were all at the same party but standing in different spots!

Also! AHP friend Amy (aka Bookishvice https://www.instagram.com/amy_artmix) was visiting from Puerto Rico and came to join me live! It was so nice meeting her and drawing together!

And she brought me Stabilo Woody pencils!

I’m going to leave it here for this week, as currently on my way home from a weekend of camping and have a lot to share but it’s rather cumbersome doing so on my phone, so I’ll share the happenings with you next week!
